The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that 32-ounce Fresh Express Chopped Romaine packages with the product code G034A06A and a Use-by Date of February 19, have been recalled. The packages contain condiment packs with individual packets of parmesan cheese, croutons, and dressing for Fresh Express’ Caesar salad. The ingredients in the products in these packets include milk, eggs, wheat, and fish and, may, inadvertently expose Fresh Express Chopped Romaine consumers to undisclosed allergens.

Representatives from Fresh Express are working with retailers for the removal of the affected product. The lettuce packages were mostly sold in the East and Southeastern states. No other Fresh Express products were involved in this recall.

Fresh Express is cooperating with the FDA to ensure this recall is an isolated event and to prevent any such future occurrences.

The identifying product information can be found in the upper right hand corner on the front of the package. Customers who have boughtFresh Express Chopped Romaine are advised to discard it. A refund is available at the place of purchase, or the consumer may get in touch with the Fresh Express Consumer Response Center for a refund.
